30 Million Americans have OSA

OSA affects nearly 30 million Americans, and 80% of cases are undiagnosed.

This study discusses the diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in the context of recent diagnostic and therapeutic advances. The study confirms that OSA is a serious illness affecting about 12% of adults in the US, and the majority of patients are undiagnosed, which translates to serious healthcare and economic burden. Current data recommends early diagnosis with an in-lab PSG or HSAT followed by an appropriate therapeutic modality. CPAP remains the treatment of choice for moderate and severe OSA.
